The Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB)
With over 400 dedicated researchers and state-of-the-art facilities , the Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB) specializes in developing biologics and small molecule drugs , botanical drugs , as well as technologies required for preclinical testing. Our expertise arises from the integration of a number of diverse disciplines , including biology , chemistry , protein purification and engineering , as well as analytical and quality assurance. Established in 1984 by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) , Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) , DCB was initially tasked with establishing the biotechnology industry in Taiwan. Through strategic global alliances and technology transfer agreements , DCB has successfully fostered the development of a complete biotech infrastructure and value chain , as well as a diverse array of applications for use by the private sector. As a result , DCB has become one of Taiwan’s most important research institutes.
